What is InnoBiz?
InnoBiz combines Innovation and Business. It identifies and supports SMEs with strong future growth potential based on technological capability itself—including R&D capacity and original technology—built through systematic research and development and a clear technology edge.
Operated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, certification can unlock powerful policy benefits such as larger Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC) guarantee limits, lower guarantee fees, tax incentives, and extra points in public procurement.

InnoBiz certification process
Online self-assessment
Companies scoring 650 or higher out of 1,000 across four areas—technology innovation capability, technology commercialization capability, technology innovation management capability, and technology innovation performance—may apply for the on-site evaluation.
On-site evaluation
Evaluators verify on site whether the self-assessment claims are accurate. The passing score is 700 or higher out of 1,000—stricter than the self-assessment—and supporting evidence must match the actual workplace.
